12/20/2006 ROLAND A. “PEP” PEPIN SOUTH BURLINGTON — Roland A. “Pep” Pepin, 82, of South Burlington died on Monday, Dec. 18, 2006, in Starr Farm Nursing Center following a long illness. He was born in Burlington , Vt., on Nov. 8, 1924, the son of Adelard and Alice (Belair) Pepin. He served his country during World War II in the U. S. Navy and on May 7, 1949, he was married in Burlington to Doris J. Merchand. Roland retired from General Electric in 1971 and started a decorating business. He retired from interior decorating and had time to enjoy fishing, boating, camping and everything in the great outdoors. He was a member of St. Anthony parish, a lifetime member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge 916 in Burlington and a member of the VFW Howard Plant Post 782 in Burlington. He is survived by his wife, Doris J. Pepin of South Burlington; his four children and their spouses, Tom and Nancy Pepin of South Burlington, Patricia and Harry Soulia of Wisconsin, Paula and Mike Noonan of Milton and Tim and Laurie Lawrence-Pepin also of Milton; four grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; two sisters, Rose Lapointe of Burlington and Doris and her husband Bud Monell of Burlington; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Clem, Six and Roger and by two sisters, Pauline and Lucy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Dec. 22, at 12 noon in St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church with burial to follow in Resurrection Park Cemetery.
