To let
by George Albert Leddy

Just off the bar there was a room,
and Gus he thought one day:
"That's quite a busy little place,
I'll have to make it pay."

So he took the "i" out of the name,
and made it read "To let".
You see he wanted all the dough
he possibly could get.

And then he got a patent lock
and nailed it over the door.
He sighed, "I wonder why I didn't
think of that before?

"This room it came to me, you see,
with the hotel that I bought;
So to get in here you'll have to drop
a nickel in the slot."
