Beatrice Alderman BENNINGTON -- Beatrice O. Alderman, widow of Earl L. Alderman, a longtime resident of Jewett Drive in Bennington, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Rivers Edge Community Care Home in Bennington. Born in Burlington on Dec. 19, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eva (Langlois) Abair. She received her education in Winooski. Mr. and Mrs. Alderman were married in Winooski Sept. 15, 1930. Mr. Alderman died March 1, 1978. In earlier years, Mrs. Alderman was employed at the former EZ Mills and later at Bijur Lubricating Co. until the time of her retirement. Mrs. Alderman was a member of Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church and the former Altar Rosary Society. She had volunteered with the Meals On Wheels program, at Putnam Memorial Hospital, Bennington Health and Rehabilitation and Ellis Hospital in Tarpon Springs, Fla. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald T. and Doris Alderman and Roy L. and Mary Alderman, all of Bennington; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo Abair of Colchester; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Alderman was predeceased by an infant son, Russell Alderman, and by six brothers and sisters, Gladys Merchant, Bertha Sourmail, Clement Abair, Edward Abair, Archie Abair and Robert Abair. The funeral will be held from the Mahar & Son Funeral Home Tuesday, Jan. 11, at 10:30 a.m. with a prayer and from Sacred Heart St. Francis de Sales Church at 11 a.m., where the liturgy of Christian death and burial will be offered. Friends may call at the Mahar & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until the time of the prayer service, when the family will be in attendance. Burial will take place in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
