Rose was born in the heart of Burlington's “Little Italy“ on Sept. 8, 1914, the second of eight children of Innocenti and Angela (Gambero) Evelti. She is the last surviving member of her generation of the Evelti family. Rose, a lifetime parishioner of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1933. She met her husband, Augustine F. She was a former member of the Daughters of Isabella and a current member of the Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Memories of Rose include her tending the large vegetable garden at her home, playing her favorite Italian songs on the piano, enjoying family gatherings, and welcoming with love newborn grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rose's family meant the world to her. She will always be remembered for her unconditional love and devotion to her husband, children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. Rose cared deeply for family and others and was seldom concerned about herself. She had a kindness of heart that endeared her to everyone she met. Always active and independent, we will always remember her beautiful smile and her friendly personality. Her enjoyment of people and her enthusiasm will be forever missed.
